Admire Monet’s house with its famous pink façade and green-painted shutters, the flower beds full of exuberant colour, the pergolas laden with climbing plants, the wisteria-covered Japanese foot-bridge and the famous lily pond.

Your English speaking guide will accompany you at all times and tell you how Monet’s passion for colour was expressed not only in the gardens he adored but also in the interior of his home. You will be picked up from 2 rue des Pyramides, 75001, Paris. Travel in an air conditioned coach and along the Normandy highway to Giverny.

Claude Monet, one of the founders of the Impressionist movement, was a passionate gardener who once remarked that flowers were possibly the reason he became a painter.

Monet spent almost 43 years in Giverny where he first rented and then actually bought a house and the land around it. He then set about creating the horticultural masterpiece we see today. He not only constructed paths and pergolas and planted a huge variety of flowers and shrubs, but also diverted a stream, made a pond, filled it with water lilies and built a Japanese-style footbridge.

Also referred to as the Painter of Light, Monet was one of the first artists of his time to step out of the studio and experiment with light, shadow and the different effects of sunlight on nature.

In Giverny, enjoy sightseeing by a qualified guide and entrance to Monet's home, garden and studio. A profusion of flowers in every possible shade and colour makes this garden a must visit. Visit the water-lily pond, the subject of so many of his paintings. Enjoy the satisfying shapes of the water-lily leaves, the colors of the lilies (if in bloom) the drooping leaves of the willow trees and the lovely reflections in the water. You can also pick up souvenirs of Monet’s work on this trip.

Visit Monet’s bedroom with its beautiful views over the gardens he loved, admire the gorgeous blue and white Rouen tiles of the kitchen and enjoy the marvellous collection of Japanese engravings the artist acquired over the years.

Return to Paris in your air-conditioned coach, arriving at the original departure point.

Booking the tour on line was not difficult and the email confirmation with booking details and vouchers was smart communication...The directions to the Isango office for the bus pick up point could have been better ...Unfortunately the tour bus was delayed on iots way to Giverny for 2 hours on the motorway due to a motor vehocle accident, but the tour proceeded ableit it 2 hours late returning to Paris but the tour guide kept us amused and informed during the delay...
