The Palace of Versailles is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the most beautiful achievements of 18th century French art. The palace remains in fabulous condition and is one of the most popular attractions of France. With this tour you have the freedom of planning your travel to the palace, be it from Paris or someplace else.
Versailles was the center of French politics from 1682, when Louis XIV, also known as the Sun King moved his court from Paris to the countryside. The palace served as the heart of royal life and saw the reign of three kings until the French Revolution. See the stupendous Apartments of the King and Queen, opulently adorned with gold and beautiful fabrics, and the famous Hall of Mirrors designed by Mansart.
If you’re visiting the Palace during high season (April – October), you will get to traverse the magnificent gardens with your guide and even catch the Fountains Show during weekends. Whereas many operators charge extra for the Fountains Show experience, with this tour it’s included in the price, so you save money while getting the most of your trip to Versailles.
Suitable for people short on time; experience the best of Versailles in 1.5 to 2 hours.

During winter (November – March) the tour lasts for 90 minutes. The wintertime tour includes a guided tour of the palace during which you will see the Grand Apartments of the King and Queen: this is where the royal couple entertained guests, granted audiences, slept and ate. In the Queen’s chamber is where 19 royal children were born in public view of the court. You will also see the grandiose Hall of Mirrors or Galerie des Glaces, commissioned by Louis XIV.
The summertime tour (April – October) lasts for 2 hours which includes the above guided tour and also a tour of the gardens. The 800-hecactre gardens took 40 years to complete and include finely landscaped woodlands and beautiful gardens in classic French Garden style. Observe the perfect green lawns, sculptures and the symmetrically planted flowerbeds connected by gravel paths. During the weekends, your admission entitles you to the spectacular Fountains Show.
The tour ends at the Palace of Versailles and you need to make your own way back to your accommodation.
