Meet your guide at the meeting point to begin your Paris jazz walking tour. Your first stops are two iconic cafés, the Les Deux Magots and Café de Flore, which were the crucible where jazz thrived.

Learn the history of jazz in Paris as you continue your walk to the following major highlights:

    • The former location of Club Saint-Germain-des-Prés where jazz fans partied in the cellars.
    • See the hotel where famous jazz artists Kenny Clarke and Bud Powell held late-night jam sessions after gigs. It is at these spots that Kenny Clarke’s bebop drum brought a new oeuvre in jazz.
    • Stop near the site of the former Tabou club where French writer and musician Boris Vian performed in 1947 and introduced American jazz to the locals.
    • Your guide will also tell you about the jazz scene in Montmartre near Pont Neuf, and divulge all about the clash between traditional French chanson and those who preferred the new jazz style.

Other places of interest that you’ll visit during the walking tour are the Caveau de la Huchette, the oldest jazz club in Paris, the now-defunct Chat Qui Pêche, and the Châtelet district.

Continue your tour to Le Duc des Lombards where you will enjoy dinner with wine, accompanied by a live jazz concert. Your tour ends here.
