After about one and a half hour on route, you will arrive at the Normand village of Giverny. Your hostess will lead you to the home of Claude Monet, where you can begin a self-guided tour.

A charming country village, it was here that the impressionist painter Claude Monet chose to settle with his family and painted the famous Water Lilies series. Also referred to as the Painter of Light, Monet was one of the first artists of his time to step out of the studio and experiment with light, shadow and the different effects of sunlight on nature.

You will be free to explore at leisure and visit Monet's home, garden and studio on this trip to Giverny. See Monet’s private apartment, the “blue salon”, which was his reading room, and the dining room, which houses the largest collection of Japanese stamps in the world. He lived here for 43 years and it was his favourite places to paint.

After strolling through Monet’s house, dive into a world of impressionism with a walk in the gardens of Giverny. A profusion of flowers in every possible shade and colour makes this garden a must visit. Claude Monet designed his garden as a veritable work of art and made it into a source of essential inspiration. See the Clos Normand, with its numerous flowerbeds, cross the water garden, with its pond of water lilies, which inspired the famous Waterlilies of Monet and the celebrated Japanese bridge, covered with wisteria.
