The bus tour was wonderful, nice, clean and fairly comfortable. We were able to see most of the Paris attractions in 2 days. This bus tour has different routes that cover many parts of Paris. Unfortunately, the less popular routes has less frequent buses. On one Tuesday morning, we waited for almost an hour. Hop-On/Off Bus tour is the best way to see Paris in a short period of time. We will do it again if return to Paris but will not take the river cruise.

Eiffel Tower, a cliché right? Well, the old adage (cliché) goes that something has become a cliché because it's true. What could be more wonderful than experiencing this all-time iconic monument and seeing all Paris when it is light? Not much can top it, but how about watching as the sun sets, into the twilight (my favourite time of day, when the sky still has a trace of blue, but all the city lights have come on.) And get down again to look back at the tower, now lit and twinkling (every 15 minutes). The only thing that could enhance such an incredible experience, is having somebody point out different important sights that can be seen from the tower, and tell something of the tower's history, as well as that of Paris and of some of the other sights. Our guide was very informative and the tour was taken at a good pace, with fascinating and amusing information. We were impressed with the set-up, each receiving headphones which ensured we heard him well at all times. It helped to skip the queue and to secure tickets to the Eiffel tower, which, if one does not book months in advance, can be hard to come by. Note: Dress warm, it get's bitterly cold at the top of the tower, and be vigilant against pickpockets. Boat trip down the Seine was very good too, but turns out was superflouus, as we'd done a hop-on-hop-off bus tour, so we'd already seen the sights by the time we did the boat tour. However it was still interesting to see things from a new perspective.

Other than it taking us a few minutes to find the bus stop in front of the Gare du Nord the experience was wonderful. Staff were extremely pleasant and helpful and to city was beautiful.
